Every maker has a beginning â a moment, a spark, a single experiment that quietly grows into something much bigger. For Bear Claw Jewelry & Oddities, it all began with one simple silicone mold.
It wasnât fancy. It wasnât part of a grand plan. It was just a tray of shapes â circles, teardrops, squares, and a few odd forms that didnât seem important at the time. But the first time I poured resin into those cavities, waited for the cure, and popped out those glossy little pieces⌠something clicked.
That mold opened the door to everything that came after: the jewelry, the mushroom jars, the flasks, the woodâandâresin hybrids, the experiments, the failures, the breakthroughs, the booth displays, the brand itself. It taught me how resin moves, how colors blend, how mica behaves, how bubbles rise, and how patience pays off.
Looking back at it now â stained with old pigments, warped from heat, and still holding a few stubborn glitter specks â itâs more than a tool. Itâs a reminder of where Bear Claw began. A reminder that every craft, every business, every dream starts with one small step⌠or in this case, one silicone mold.
This little tray of shapes didnât just make resin pieces. It made a maker.
And it set the foundation for everything Bear Claw is becoming.
More stories, more experiments, and more magic are on the way. Thanks for being here for the journey.
